Scholarships - Lloydminster Society of Petroleum Engineers

The Society of Petroleum Engineers – Lloydminster Section, are making the following awards available to students from a high school in Lloydminster and the surrounding areas. The Lloydminster Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers donates these awards to worthy candidates to recognize graduating high school students:

·         Personal development

·         Academic Achievement

·         Contribution to school and community

The scholarships are intended to financially assist students who will be continuing their education in a post-secondary institute and who are majoring in SCIENCE or ENGINEERING with relationship to the petroleum industry. The applicant must be in full time attendance and a member of the current year’s graduating class. At the time of awarding the scholarship the applicant must be enrolled full time in a post-secondary program of studies at a university, college or technical school. Two (2) High School Scholarships at $1000.00 each, will be offered. Association for Learning Environments Scholarships

2017 Saskatchewan Scholarship Gerry McCudden Memorial Scholarship Award  Merit-based scholarship program designed for graduating grade twelve students  Deadline Extended: June 30, 2017 Overview The Saskatchewan Chapter Gerry McCudden Memorial Scholarship is a competitive, merit-based scholarship program designed for graduating grade twelve students who desire financial support for their pursuit of post-secondary educational opportunities. The Scholarship amount will be allocated on a yearly basis to Saskatchewan School Division which currently has a member in the Association. The method for the selection of the School Division to receive the Scholarship shall be at the discretion of the Saskatchewan Chapter Board of Directors of the Association. Deadline Extended: June 30, 2017  Scholarship details Scholarship application form 2017 Saskatchewan Scholarship  for  LearningSCAPES 2017- Atlanta, GA 2017 Scholarships to the International Conference The A4LE Saskatchewan Chapter is interested in sponsoring a Saskatchewan member of A4LE in attending the A4LE international conference. This sponsorship opportunity is designed for members who have not had the opportunity to attend this conferences before and who desire financial support in their pursuit of the educational opportunities attending would provide. The sponsorship amount will be allocated on a yearly basis, being made available for Saskatchewan chapter A4LE members. Sponsorship Value: LearningScapes 2017 – Atlanta, GA October 25-30th, 2017. The amount of this sponsorship is the cost of registration, conference hotels (up to 5 nights); return flights, hotel transfers, and a meal allowance total value of up to $3500. The Grand Lodge of Saskatchewan as well as many Lodges sponsor a number of awards, scholarships, and bursaries. Information, including closing dates for applications, along with downloadable application forms are listed below. 

GRAND LODGE AWARDS - Closing date for applications is August 9, 2017

EDGAR ALEXANDER GARTON SCHOLARSHIPS - 2 x $1000 (  pdfApplication (75 KB) )
Offered annually to undergraduate students who have completed one or more years of University, Sask. Polytechnic, or other post-secondary education. Applicants must be children or grandchildren of a Master Mason in good standing, a resident of Saskatchewan and attending a post-secondary institution in Saskatchewan. Selection will be based on academic achievements, sportsmanship and leadership.

Must be registered for a full academic load for a full academic year as required by the institution chosen.

ROBINSON MEMORIAL BURSARY- 2 x $500 (  pdfApplication (80 KB) )
Offered annually for one undergraduate from the University of Saskatchewan and one undergraduate from the University of Regina pursuing a course leading to an honours degree or a Master’s degree in English. Selection will be based upon academic achievement and leadership.

Offered annually to an undergraduate student at the University of Regina or the University of Saskatchewan who is a resident of Saskatchewan. Selection will be based upon academic achievement, sportsmanship and leadership.

Offered annually to Saskatchewan High School graduates who proceed to an institution of higher learning (Technical, Vocational or University) anywhere in Canada. Selection is based upon academic achievement, leadership skills, community and school activities and special awards.

Offered annually to Saskatchewan high school graduates with preference to graduates who currently are or were members of the International Order of Job’s Daughters or the Order of DeMolay and who will be entering the University of Regina or the University of Saskatchewan. Selection will be based upon academic achievement and a range of non-academic activities.

ORDER OF THE EASTERN STAR ROBERT MORRISON AWARD 2 x $1,000 (  pdfApplication (102 KB) )
Award #1 is offered annually to a Saskatchewan High School graduate entering their first year of postsecondary study. Award #2 is offered annually to a University or Technical School Undergraduate entering their 2nd or subsequent year of post-secondary study. Selection is based upon academic achievement and extra-curricular activities. Candidates may receive a Robert Morrison Award only once during their post-secondary career.
Candidates must be closely related to a current member of a Saskatchewan Eastern Star Chapter (dues paying or life). Valid relationships include spouse, child, grandchild, sibling, niece or nephew (all biological, adopted or step), or be a member themselves. Applicants must be registered for a full academic load for a full academic year.

ORDER OF THE EASTERN STAR EXCELSIOR CHAPTER NO. 21 AWARD 1 x $1,500 (  pdfApplication (94 KB) )
This award is offered annually to a Saskatchewan resident who is or will be attending a University or Technical Institute in Saskatchewan. Selection is based upon academic achievement and extra-curricular activities. Candidates must be closely related to a current member of a Saskatchewan Eastern Star Chapter (dues paying or life). Valid relationships include spouse, child, grandchild, sibling, niece or nephew (all biological, adopted or step), or be a member themselves. If there is no OES connection then a Masonic relationship is required. Preference will be given to graduates who are closely related to a current member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Applicants must be registered for a full academic load for a full academic year.

Health Science Career Camp at U of Alberta

The University of Alberta is teaming up with Alberta Health Services, NAIT, and CAREERS: The Next Generation to offer a Health Sciences Career Camp from August 14-18, 2017.

The camp is open to students in grades 10 to 12 in the Edmonton Area. The aim of the program is to provide students an opportunity to explore different careers and education programs in the health sciences field.

Students can learn more and register for the camp online. The deadline to register is July 28, 2017.

U of Alberta Registration Workshops and Resources

First year course registration opened on April 3. There is one more online Reg 101 Workshop scheduled for Wednesday, June 14, 2017.

Students will have an opportunity to learn how to navigate the Bear Tracks system for the purpose of course registration, build a first-year schedule, and ask UAlberta advisors questions. Students must have accepted their admission offer in order to access course schedule information.

In addition to these workshops, there are have many online resources, including faculty tip sheets, helpful videos and FAQs, available to students. To access these, and to register for a session, visit uab.ca/reg101.

MC College Scholarship

MC College is an accredited institution across Western Canada with 6 campuses in total offering Hairstyling and Esthetics programs.  The purpose of their scholarship is to encourage creative young individuals interested in pursuing a career in the Salon or Spa Industry.
