Future Aces Scholarship
Deadline: January 31
Successful applicants will have demonstrated their contribution to society by having exhibited good citizenship through extensive volunteerism, community service initiatives and by participating in humanitarian causes (minimum 350 hours)
- Applicants are either in or pursuing a post-secondary school education
- Applicants must be Canadian Residents between the ages of 16-24
- Applicants can be pursuing post-secondary education in a non-Canadian institution
- Availability of scholarships is based upon the number and type of donations received prior to the application

SIGA First Nations Scholarship Awards Program
Deadline: July 31, 2011
Two (2) $5,000 Scholarships are for students in Information Technology; a Commerce program (majoring in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance or Marketing); or Hospitality and Tourism Management.
Two (2) $2,500 Scholarships are for students in Communications or Electronics.
Ten (10) $1,000 Scholarships are for students in any chosen field.
Selection Criteria
The SIGA First Nations Scholarship Awards Program provides an opportunity for First Nations students within the province to successfully obtain certification from a recognized post-secondary institute.
To be eligible for a scholarship award, the applicant must:

This Fund provides one annual award (the amount will vary due to investment income, but is
anticipated to be a minimum of $3,000) to be used to assist the successful applicant in receiving
education and training at a not-for-profit post-secondary institution of his or her choice. The
award is made on the basis of the criteria listed below. The successful applicant will be chosen
by a selection committee. The committee will determine the standards which applicants must
meet. The winner will be announced at an appropriate time.
PROVISION OF THE AWARD
One scholarship will be paid annually. The scholarship award is endowed with The Saskatoon
Foundation in perpetuity and will not be retired.
ELIGIBILITY OF CANDIDATES
1. Candidates shall be Saskatchewan residents of Aboriginal ancestry, either status or nonstatus Indian or Metis.
2. Applicants should have an academic average of at least 70% or be mature students with
a commitment to succeed.
3. The scholarship recipient will forfeit the award should s/he be unable to provide a written
confirmation of enrolment from the post-secondary institution s/he plans to attend by
December 15th
in the year of the award. In this case, the runner-up shall be awarded the
scholarship.

myRobot Rumble: SUMObot Challenge 2011

SIAST will give your school a SUMO robot kit that has everything you need to be ready for the rumble (check competition rules for details). Your team builds it, programs it and then tests it on the included competition mat.

On March 24, 2011 your SUMObot team will meet in Saskatoon and go bot-to-bot against other Saskatchewan high school teams. Last bot standing in the ring is the winner!

myRobot Rumble is open to all grade 9 to 12 Saskatchewan high school students.

Desire to pursue some form of education or training, whether that be Canadian secondary, post-secondary or training education (high school or equivalent, CEGEP, GED, college, university, training or apprenticeship programs)
Self nominated OR nominated by a community group, friend, peer, sponsor
All nominations must include a letter of endorsement by a sponsor. The sponsor must speak to the applicant's role and innovative project.

Business Insurance Program
SIAST has expanded its Business programs portfolio to prepare students for growing opportunities in the insurance industry. The Insurance Institute of Saskatchewan estimates that as many as 25% of the insurance industry nationally will retire within the next six years.
The new Business Insurance diploma is the only full-time program in the province focusing on insurance and has been developed to provide grads with mid-career level skills. Students will write the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) exams to receive industry accreditation.
