Dalton Camp Award

The Dalton Camp Award will go to the winner or winners of an essay competition on the link between democratic values and the media in Canada. The award is available to up to two Canadians each year. Each award consists of a prize of $5,000, as well as a bronze cast medal by the late Canadian sculptress Dora de Pédèry-Hunt. Click the title link for further information.

Visual Communications Graduation Exhibition

The Visual Communications, Bachelor of Applied Arts Program at Medicine Hat College extends an invitation to teachers, guidance counsellors and students to attend their 2010 graduation exhibition which runs from Friday, April 2 to Monday, April 12. They are willing to host guided tours of the exhibition and of their studios.

Garfield Weston Entrance Awards

The Garfield Weston Awards program is designed to recognize outstanding college-bound students who show a strong commitment to their fields of study and are interested in making positive contributions to their communities.

The Garfield Weston Awards program will distribute up to 25 Entrance Garfield Weston Awards to students entering their first year of college or CEGEP studies in Canada for use during the 2009-2010 academic year. Each Entrance Garfield Weston Award comprises a tuition waiver from a consortium college renewable for one or two additional years; an $8,000 stipend renewable for one or two additional years; access to summer program funding, up to $3,500; and mentorship. Canada World Youth International Program

There are still limited places available in two of Canada World Youth's core programs. The Youth Leaders in Action is a six month program that brings 9 Canadian youth and 9 youth from another country together to share a common experience. Each team will live three months in a Canadian Community and three months in a setting in either Asia, South America, Eastern Europe, the Caribbean or Africa.

InterAction - is a two-six week intense and education experience which is based entirely within an international host community and has no Canadian portion of the trip.

Co-operative Youth Program (Camp)

Co-op Camp offers a leadership experience for youth aged 12 to 18, who are interested in personal development, leadership training, co-operative education, and recreation. Camps are held at Candle Lake, with bus transportation provided from Saskatoon. Leadership topics include communication, teamwork, values, self-esteem, personal development, community and cooperation.

Canadian Printing Industries Scholarship

Deadline: June 30

The Canadian Printing Industries awards 50 scholarships of $1250 annually to students who meet all of the following criteria:
-must be enrolled in or plan to be enrolled in the first year of an approved program;
-must be enrolled for a minimum of two years , on a full-time basis, in a printing management or technical program (not art or design) in a post-secondary Canadian school
-must have a high school average of at least 75% if applying for a community college program, or at least 80% if applying for a university program or a university or college GPA of 3.0 or better if applying for either a college program or a university program; and
-must have a commitment to pursue a career in the printing industry (this could include management, estimating, pre-press, press, sales, etc.)

Odd Fellow and Rebekah Bursary

Deadline: March 15

Every year the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs of Saskatchewan provide six bursaries in the amount of $5000 each for post-secondary education will be awarded for grade 12 students who are going to be enrolled in post-secondary education next year and who have an average (in grades 11 and 12) of at least 755 in all subjects. Grade 12 first semester marks are to be included with the application.

Note: Bursaries foe for students who can indicate financial need.

ECO Canada's Video Contest

Registration Deadline: February 19
Submission Deadline: April 1

ECO Canada is inviting teams of high school students across Canada to create a short video about an environmental issue in their communities.

The video should focus on:

An environmental issue outside of the school environment but within the local community
Environmental professionals working on a local environmental issue.

Video contestants must:

Be from a Canadian high school (in grades 9 – 12)
Be in a collaborative team from the same high school
Ensure that only one video per school is entered into the contest
Have a team sponsor who is a full-time staff member from your school who can provide consent from school administration to participate in the video contest

Premier’s Centennial Arts Scholarships

Deadline: May 17

Premier’s Centennial Arts Scholarships provide financial assistance to Saskatchewan students undertaking training for a career as a professional artist. Studies may be full or part-time in any fine arts discipline, and must be undertaken at an accredited post secondary institution or in a recognized
fine arts training program.

The Centennial Arts Program is funded by the the 2005 Canada Games Building Dreams and Champions Legacy program.
Maximum grant: Full-time studies: $2,500
Part-time studies: $1,000

U of S - On Campus Day

On Campus Day provides high school students with the opportunity to explore options in:
- Arts and Science
- Agriculture and Bioresources
- Business
- Engineering
- Kinesiology and
- Nursing

In addition to sitting in on a mock lecture in their main program area of interest, students will have a chance to test out other programs as they attend three different lectures throughout On Campus Day. They will learn about admission and registration processes, awards, programs for student success and more.

North West Regional College - Campus Tours, etc.

Wednesday, March 10 - North West Regional College in North Battleford is hosting an opportunity for students to tour the campus, observe a class in action and obtain programs and services information.

Design Competition

The aim of this competition is to promote the study and awareness of various design disciplines in high schools throughout Canada. The competition is open to all high school students in both junior and senior grades. Prizes will be awarded in four categories: Industrial Design, Fashion Design, Architectural/Interior Design and Graphic Design.
