SGI Corporate Scholarship

The SGI Corporate Scholarship is open to all Saskatchewan residents attending accredited post-secondary institutions in Saskatchewan. Eight $2,500 scholarships are awarded each year - four to university students and four to students attending a technical institute. Scholarships are awarded for one year on a one-time basis - recipients may receive only one SGI scholarship during their studies.
To be eligible for an SGI Corporate Scholarship, a student must:

  • be a Saskatchewan resident
  • be enrolled in a certificate, diploma or degree program related to the business needs of SGI at an accredited post-secondary campus in Saskatchewan. Business needs of SGI are defined very broadly to include all aspects and departments included in the corporation
    show their contribution to community, extracurricular activities or commitments made in balancing work, education and home responsibilities
  • be receiving no other scholarship funding for the current school year

Applications must be received at SGI no later than Sept. 30 each year.

SIAST Post-Secondary Success Courses

A series of four post-secondary success courses will be offered in August 2007. Courses will address subjects and skills such as math, writing, computers and student success strategies which commonly pose challenges for new SIAST students. Courses are offered over a two-week period so that you may choose to take more than one of the four courses.

Blyth Cambridge Scholarship Program

These scholarships are offered annually to graduating Canadian high school students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievment and the ability to excell at Cambridge University in England. The successful candidates will be granted admission to Cambridge as well as full tuition for three years of undergraduate study, travel costs and a full livng allowance.

CUPE 4747 Scholarship

The new criteria for the CUPE 4747 scholarship have now been developed. Eligible sutdents must have a parent/guardian who has been a member of CUPE local 4747 for at least one full year. Students must submit applications including high school marks and a letter outlining future education plans to CUPE local 4747 by April 30 of their graduating year.

For this year only, the deadline will be June 13. Ask your guidance counsellor for details.

Lakeland College Summer Camps 2007

Lakeland College, Vermilion and Lloydminster Campuses, will be offering volleyball, basketball, golf and rodeo camps during the summer of 2007. These camps are directed at a range of participant age groups and some include children as young as nine years old.

Prince Edward Drama Scholarship

The application for the Prince Edward Drama Scholarship has been extended until June 15, 2007. Saskatchwewan drama students aged 13 to 18 are eligible to receive up to $500 through the Prince Edward Drama Scholarship to attend a drama program in Saskatchewan.

Programs could include drama camps and youth theatre classes - - everything from acting and playwriting to directing and design. The scholarship can cover costs such as registration/tuition fees, travel and accomodation. Application forms and more information are available on the Saskatchewan Arts Board website at

U of A - Academic Excellence Scholarships

To be eligible, students must have an award average of 80% or higher (based on Grade 11 or Grade 12 final grades) and plan to enter full-time studies in an undergraduate degree program at the U of A in September 2008.

Deadline - December 15, 2997

Earlybird Deadline - June 30, 2007 (for grade 11 students) - this is the deadline for students to receive special bonuses such as free tuituion, U of A gear and a guarenteed spot in residence.
